Collection Summary:

Archaeological field notes and analysis notes, 1960-1979, from the western side of Lake Turkana, Kenya.  A record of work by L. H. Robbins (Prof. Emeritus, Dept. of Anthropology, Michigan State University) during research for Ph.D. and  later publications.

Historical Background:

Larry Robbins is Emeritus Professor of Anthropology at Michigan State University and a founding member of the Society for Africanist Anthropologists. The MSU Museum holds extensive systematic ethnographic collections from various parts of Africa. Significant among the ethnographic collections are Turkana material culture that has been documented and collected by Professor Emeritus of Anthropology Lawrence Robbins.
