The collection consists of seven issues of Campus Capsules. The newsletter gives information about the activities of each class, campus events such as the finishing of the carillon, WKAR-TV’s first telecast, the 1954 Rose Bowl, and the name change from Michigan State College to Michigan State University of Agriculture and Applied Science. The issues also include information about the athletic teams.

The William Hessler papers consist of a Michigan State College student handbook for 1927-1928, football tickets for 1928-1930, a ticket to a New Year's Eve Ball at the Masonic Temple in Lansing, Michigan for December 1931, and a football program for the MSC vs. University of Michigan football game held on November 13, 1954.
