The collection consists of galley print of "Worked Out in Infinite Detail": Michigan State College's Lauren P. Brown and the Origins of the NCAA Cross Country Championships by Mark E. Havitz and Eric D. Zemper, 2013 and a dvd of home videos of cross country and track meets from 1962 to 1964.
The movies were originally shot by Robert Sharkey. They show MSU cross country and track athletes Richard "Dick" Sharkey and Eric Zemper among others.
The collection consists of brochures and other publications. There are also photographs of campus, students, staff, cheerleaders, Spartan Marching Band, football games, track, and golf.
The Intercollegiate Athletics Track Collection consists of Michigan Agricultural College, Michigan State College, Michigan High School Athletic Association Big Ten, and NCAA Track & Field programs.
This collection contains a photocopy of “Spartan Thinclad News” from April 1937; it was a program for the inaugural meet of the new track on campus. It gives a history of track at Michigan State University as well as the program for the dedication of the track. The collection also includes programs for Big Ten Indoor track meets, a Big Ten outdoor meet, as well a program for the State Journal Spartan relays, an indoor high school meet.
