Scope and Contents The papers of Fannie Beal contain two notebooks from her classes at Michigan Agricultural College: a cooking notebook and a sewing notebook. The first volume contains notes from her senior cooking class about assorted recipes for fruit dishes, juice, rolls, and desserts. Also within this notebook are lecture notes pertaining to canning, the chemical make-up of humans, and the basics of proteins, sugars, and starches. Floyd M. Barden papers

Scope and Contents

The Floyd M. Barden papers consist of an oral history interview conducted by Frank Dennis in 1973. Barden discusses fruit farming in South Haven (1850-1900), his experiences while a student at Michigan Agricultural College (1904-1908), and his later interaction with the College, particularly his work with the Cooperative Extension Service (circa 1910-1930). The collection includes an audio cassette and transcription of the interview.
