Scope and Contents

This collection contains negatives and photographs taken by Bransdorfer during his time as a student at Michigan State College. The photographs are of his friends A. Farquhason, J.J. Albert, Joan Benson, Con Williams (Spartan Editor), Pat McCarthy, Doug Trezise, and Beatrice Wilson. The postcards in the collection are of campus buildings, and were purchased by Bransdorfer at a stamp show in Alma, Michigan.

The Elnora and Richard Leyes collection contains class notes and course material from Michigan State College (now Michigan State University), National Sales and Management Rally for Florists Lectures for 1951 and 1952, as well as a small amount of biographical information and history of the Janesville Floral Company. The class materials include horticulture, landscape architecture, as well as botany, chemistry, entomology, business accounting and other classes.

The Glenford S. Leonard papers contain primarily information on Leonard’s post-Michigan State University career. One topic, which became a specialty of Leonard’s, and which is covered extensively in the collection is the integration of police and fire services. Leonard helped implement the integration in several towns in Michigan and often checked the progress of integration in other communities.

Scope and Content The James William Ochs collection contains six folders of photographs taken by James during his time at Michigan State College (now Michigan State University). The photos show student activities including sports. The sports photos include basketball, both intercollegiate and intramural, football, and boxing. Scope and Contents The Laurence H. White collection contains a story written by the group the Greek Interpreters for entry into the Baker Street Irregulars Club. Also included are personal reminiscences pertaining to Michigan State University events and activities. The manuscript story is called “The Singular Affair of Mr. Phillip Phot,” a Sherlock Holmes story written by White and other club members. Scope and Contents

The papers include two certificates for courses in fixing Ford tractors and Dearborn Wood Brothers corn pickers. There is also student memorabilia including a football ticket, party ticket, a Michigan State College advertising card, and a program for the Dairy Department Bean Feed in 1940. Also included is a photograph of a Michigan State College Horse Management class from 1947, and photographs of campus and buildings.
