Kathryn Faner Lobban collection

Content Description

The collection consists of a photograph album with portraits of women and men and small images of Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) military activities. There are also photographs of Kathryn Faner Lobban and her husband Andrew Lobban. The images are in a 1927 MSC Military Ball souvenir album. Also included are photographs of musicians and MSC music faculty Alexander Schuster, Michael Press and Arthur Farwell which are inscribed to Kathryn Faner.

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of photocopies of pages from the Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) yearbook, the Wolverine, from 1939, 1940, 1941 and 1942 that have handwritten dates of death for some students. Also included is play information from football games. The dates of the games are unknown but they are from a MSC vs. Wayne game and a MSC vs. University of Michigan game. There are also sheets that list the positions of the players.

Scope and Content The collection consists of eleven photographs taken by Nathan Taisch in 1929. Five of the photographs show the Michigan State College band performing at a football game. One photograph is of Wells Hall decorated with a large "S" and a banner reading "Spartans Beat Detroit."
