Biographical / Historical

Medical College of Virginia was organized in 1838 as the Medical Dept. of Hampden-Sydney College. It was incorporated in 1854 as the Medical College of Virginia. In 1913, it absorbed the University College of Medicine, and in 1914 it absorbed the North Carolina Medical College.
