This collection contains a letter from H. R. Hunt of the Michigan State University Zoology department, an Michigan State College School of Science and Arts newsletter from 1953, and reprints of papers relating to horticulture and nutrition.

Scope and Contents The records consist of project summaries, newsletters, extension handouts, safety photo contest, safety posters, and National Dairy Engineering Conference proceedings. The records consist of a description of Mechanical Engineering courses and department for 1893 to 1894, a photocopy of an exam from 1895, and “Study and Practice Manual for Machinery and Instruments” by Jesse Campbell and Harold Eaton, 1949. Also included are Alumni newsletters for 2005 to 2009 and issues of the M.E. Bulletin.

This collection consists of records including blueprints of the Old Chemistry Building (Old Chemistry Laboratory), correspondence regarding a physics textbook, experiments, graduate opportunities, a laboratory manual, materials tests, a proposal to the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, and telescope advertisements from the late nineteenth century.

Scope and Contents

The Herman M. Slatis papers contain correspondence written by Slatis to various people during his time at Michigan State University. The majority of the letters are to Alexander Sokoloff about his work with the Tribolium confusum, or confused floor beetle. Sokoloff was a faculty member at the Department of Genetics at the University of California in Berkeley, California. The letters include notes on his work with the beetles and also include personal correspondence between the two men.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of a 1953 published work by Veatch, soil survey maps, a reprint of a soil profiles paper, list of Ginseng growers (1905), and Michigan Ginseng Growers convention proceedings (1905). The book contains sections on physical divisions, types of soil, types of vegetation, land types, land use, and possibilities for agricultural production and includes a foldout Michigan Soil Association map. Many of the soil survey maps were produced by or with assistance of Veatch.
