Scope and Content

This collection contains five books by Francis Hodgman: Early Days in Climax, The Hodgman Family, Home’s Sweet Harmonies, Songs by the Wandering Singer and The Wandering Singer and His Songs and Other Poems. Early Days in Climax was written in 1905 and outlines the history of the school houses in the area. There are also several illustrations in the book of different school houses. The Hodgman Family, 1903, is a partial genealogy of the family from 1663-1903. Home’s Sweet Harmonies is a book of music for either mixed voices or male voices published in 1899. Songs by the Wandering Singer is poems written by Hodgman and published about 1898. Lastly, The Wandering Singer and His Songs and Other Poems includes twenty-five of his poems with illustrations.
