 File — Drawer: F.D., Folder: 10

Scope and Content

From the Record Group:

This collection contains constitutions, undated correspondence between future attendees of Michigan State and the association, which include such information as formal sorority rush and a list of freshman books required for fall semester 1944. There are also blank forms that a student would fill out for the council, including student information sheets, petition for offices and chairmanships in organizations, certificate of service for cooperative extension work and a sickness report form. The Rule Handouts and Handbooks explain some of the more important regulations that the organization upheld. These include the time ration book explanation sheet for overnight and late time coupons and the social rules for dances and dinners. Also in this folder is the Associated Women Students handbook for 1948-1949, outlining its constitution and all of the rules each woman student is governed by in the college.

Other material includes dress regulations, Intercollegiate Association of Women Students publications, handbooks, and a history of the organization. The Report on Women's Closing Hours, published in 1967, includes suggestions for updating the rules and regulations of the current AWS policies on curfew for women.
