Scope and Contents
The Campus Images folder contains images of the Library/Museum, Agricultural building, Wells Hall, R.E. Olds Engineering Hall, Gymnasium, an image with the Armory and Abbot Hall, the Chemistry Building, the Woman’s Building, the Barns, and Laboratory Row with the Horticulture, Bacteriology, Botany, Forestry, and Entomology buildings. There is also a photomontage of the Veterinary Surgery and Clinic, Engineering Shops, U.S. Weather Bureau station, Howard Terrace, and the Dairy Building.
The Programs folder contains a program for the Fourth Annual Old Timers Game vs. Varsity Alumni and a program for Lyman Frimodig’s retirement dinner both held on May 14, 1960. Frimodig was Michigan Agricultural College’s first intramural sports director and later a professor of health and physical education.
The Football folder contains the September 7, 1988 Lansing State Journal section about the Michigan State University football team; a newspaper article about 100 years of Spartan sports; and miscellaneous items including a 1928 student football ticket, a 1970 football schedule, and cutout drawing of Clyde Olin as a football player.
The Pullman sign folder contains a sign requesting quiet with a line at the bottom reading “the Pullman Company”.
The Oversized folder contains a poster advertising The Eczema, a humorous student newspaper, a poster advertising sophomore vs. freshman class rush, a poster advertising the 1926 barbeque and pep meeting, and a 1926 Lansing State Journal “football extra” section.
Also included is a masonry trowel used by Truman Olin, a brick mason and grandfather of Clyde Olin, during construction of College Hall in 1855.
