The collections contain papers and photographs. The papers include a 1931 Detroit alumni club directory, two different issues of the May 13, 1931 issue of The Eczema, newspaper articles about The Eczema from 1931, “On the Campus” booklet about campus, and a wedding announcement for Jessamine Van Buren Kennedy and Frederic B. Mumford for 1895. There is also a draft of a August 1875 letter from Governor Bagley about Frank Wells leaving a board because of problems with the Finance Committee and a facsimile of the final letter. The photographs in the collection include a 1907 image of President Theodore Roosevelt speaking at graduation. There are also images from alumni and patriarch reunions from 1907, 1929-1933, and undated. The reunions include classes of 1876, 1883, 1895, 1904, and 1922. Most notable is the class of 1883 in 1933 next to their class gift which was a fountain. There are also photographs of buildings including Agriculture Hall, Linton Hall, Morrill Hall, Physics and Electrical Engineering (Chem Fort), the first Wells Hall, including it on fire and after the fire. Of note is an image of the president’s house as seen from the Red Cedar River. There also images of Beaumont Tower including the exterior, close ups of the “Sower” relief art, as well as interior images of the bells and mechanisms. Other images include the class of 1876 with members identified, student doing military drill beside the Physics and Engineering Building, faculty and staff, circa 1893, circa 1896, and undated, some with identification of people in the image, the fountain, botanical garden, exhibits of students' research. There is also an image of the staff of the Michigan Farmer with petitions to the Secretary of State to reduce property tax. There is also a printing plate of a portrait of Manly Miles and a printing plate of a group shot of the surveying class of 1876 taken in 1874.
