History of Bushnell
Scope and Contents
The papers consist of two court docket books and a handwritten manuscript. The first docket book (1825-1841) records the cases of Robert Hoy Sr. in Stark County, Ohio. The bulk of these are dated 1825-1828. The cases list plaintiffs and defendants, Hoy's decisions, and the court costs. John and Robert Jr. also used the book to keep farm accounts from 1828 to 1841. The second docket book (1870-1899) records Robert W. Hoy's cases in Montcalm County as well as marriages he performed. The manuscript, which may be by Robert W. Hoy, describes the settlement and early history of Bushnell, Michigan.
