Scope and Contents

This collection contains two papers and twenty slides. The first paper, entitled, "China's Hotels Today and In the Future," compares and contrasts the following five Chinese hotels (the Peking Hotel in Peking, the Brocade Hotel in Chengdu, the Da Hua Hotel in Shanghai, the Hangchow Guest House in Hangchow, and TungFang Hotel in Canton) with three other hotels (the International House of Japan in Tokyo, the Holiday Inn-Kowlook in Hong Kong, and the Holiday Inn-Civic Center in San Francisco). The second paper, "Photographs and Thoughts of China '79" contains one page of 'thoughts' and five pages of description and notes for 62 slides which were retained by the donor. The collection also contains twenty slides, with description sheet, of various people and places in the People's Republic of China.

These papers and slides stem from a Council for International Educational Exchange sponsored tour of the People's Republic of China in January of 1979.
