Scope and Contents
The Michigan Alliance for Environmental and Outdoor Education records include records related to Julian Smith, Michigan Outdoor Education Association, Michigan Environmental Education Association, Michigan Alliance for Environmental and Outdoor Education, Project Wild and Environmental Curriculum.
The Julian Smith records include articles and publications about outdoor education and recreation and camp activities manuals. There is one folder of correspondence and a few folders related to outdoor education conferences.
The rest of the collection contains materials related the Michigan Alliance for Outdoor Education and its predecessor organizations. The organizational materials include merger information, newsletters, awards, organization information, conferences, scrapbooks (which include a few photographs), articles and publications, executive board minutes. There is also material related to Project Wild including steering committee, publications, and newsletters. The Environmental Curriculum material includes publications, pamphlets, and articles to providing information for teachers as well as history of outdoor education and background information.
