Scope and Content

From the Collection:

The Marilyn Culpepper collection contains photographs of Holt, Michigan, unidentified portraits of people, group portraits with some possibly being of Holt schools, scenes, a lumber mill and logging, log cabins, military camp with some being identified as Camp Custer, Michigan (also called Fort Custer). There are also portraits of athletics teams include, football, basketball, women's basketball, baseball and track and field. Most are the teams are unidentified except for one of the Michigan Normal school and track and field champions of Van Buren County and football team of the Michigan Normal School. There also one photograph of Ross W. Mayer. Some of the other photographs probably include members of the Mayer family. The collection also include a photograph album which includes scenes of Harbor Springs, steam ships, harbor views, and the artesian well near the Ramona Hotel. There are also scenes of people and landscapes that may or may not be at Harbor Springs.
