Scope and Contents
The Barbara Quackenbush Collection contains a biographical information of Barbara Quackenbush and reminiscensce written by Barbara about her experiences as a female college student at Michigan State College during a period of war.
The collection also includes a scrapbook which contains a graduation photograph of Barbara; a 1947 photo of MSC nursery school children; the 1946 Commencement Issue of the Michigan State Newspaper; football tickets from the 1945 season; an edition of the Home Ec Herald; the 1945-46 AWS Handbook for Women; a MSC Student Activity ticket book from fall 1945; student receipts; a Lecture-Concert series schedule for 1945-1946; a MSC student ID card; photos of students, photos of the Home Economics house interiors; programs for Lecture Concertand MSC Theater Department performances including Paul Robeson; Rigoletto, Hour of Charm All-Girl Orchestra, Blithe Spirit, Ballet Theatre, and The Little Foxes; tickets to events;; a 1946 Bowery Ball program; 1946 Spring Sports Schedule; Shakespeare a la Mode by Alpha Epsilon Rho radio fraternity event program;; a Home Economics Day 1946 program; a Home Economics Club material; Newman Club material, dance cards; and a 1946 commencement programs and cards.
