Scope and Contents
The collection consists of materials related to Michigan State University and East Lansing, including brochures on East Lansing historic neighborhoods and districts, an article by Linda O. Stanford titled "Post-1930 Architecture: Searching for Answers," an article by James Towar titled "History of East Lansing Post Office," an East Lansing Historic District Map, a Department of Chemistry Alumni Newsletter Spring 1987, a Spartan Senior Citizen Spring 1991 newsletter, a 1960 Annual Report Michigan Artificial Breeders Cooperative, and a City of East Lansing Historic District Study Committee Final Report March 1988. Also included is a 4-H songbook (circa 1946), and the "East Lansing Heritage Cookery Book" (1976). Other materials include Kappa Delta Pi constitution and bylaws (1944) schedule of events (1946), Lansing Knights of Columbus banquet dance card (1924), SparDu newsletters of the MSC Chapter of Delta Upsilon (1953 and 1954) Photographs in the collection include publicity photographs of Bubba Smith, a Delta Upsilon composite photograph (1953). There is also a group of photographs of female students playing cards, studying, a shot of dormitory room, the Pi Kappa Phi house, and Air Corps Parade as well as informal portraits.
