Historical Note
The Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations (ACTPN) is part of the Office of the United States Trade Representative. Its purpose is to provide policy advice to the U.S. Trade Representative "on matters arising in connection with the development, implementation, and administration of the trade policy of the United States" (source: ACTPN Charter, ustr.gov). In 1990, Dr. Wharton was appointed to a two-year term on the Committee by President George H. W. Bush.
