The collection consists of a draft survey, created by Mark Havitz, as well as sample letter sent to alumni in the pilot phase of his project. The research project focused on issues related to running and physical activity over the life span. The pilot phase was a pre-test questionnaire of approximately 12 people. Also included are volumes one through four of One Hundred Ten Years of Running on the Banks of the Red Cedar: A Social History of Michigan State University Cross Country by Mark E. Havitz which cover mens cross country for the years 1907 to 2019.
