The Michigan Board of Agriculture Reports document that activities of ths Michigan State Agricultural Society which was formed to provide information to farmers.The Society went on to manage the Michigan Agricultural College. This responsibility was later turned over to a newly created State Board of Agriculture. Because of this yearly reports of the college appear in these volumes. Information about MSU includes, finances, enrollment, research acitivies, as well as reports by individual departments. Also included are reports of the Agricultural Experiment Station.
