The Dave Catron Papers consists of materials collected during Catron’s time with the Michigan State University Bands, including the Spartan Marching Band, Concert Band, and Wind Ensemble. Included are handbook and composite books for the Spartan Marching Band with season schedules, directories, drill formations and notes, and pregame and halftime scripts. The collection also consists of football program pages, an official Rose Bowl souvenir parade... program, newspaper clippings, articles written about Catron, Concert and Wind ensemble performance programs, sheet music for the Fight Song and Michigan State March, the musical score for “David Variations”, Spartan Marching Band memorabilia, and oversized drill formation sheets. Also included are photographs of the Spartan Marching Band and personnel, the Hugoton High School Marching Band, as well as audio-visual materials consisting of reels, video cassette tapes, audio cassette tapes, and phonograph records of the Michigan State University Bands.
