Scope and Contents

From the Record Group:

The records of the Institute of Community Development include papers and reports on Michigan police departments; studies on various topics of Michigan communities and community development agencies; and guides, handbooks, and reports pertaining to Michigan local government. Of particular interest: a study on the economic feasibility of the proposed Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore (1961), the preliminary report of the Upper Peninsula Authority for Regional Development (1962), a paper entitled "Detroit: Agenda for Fiscal Survival" (1971), and a report to the Michigan State Boundary Commission on the cities of Burton, Carmen, and Genesee (1970).
