Biographical Note

Richard Purdum was a Detroit native who attended Michigan State College from 1940-1946. While at MSC, he was a member of the National Society of Pershing Rifles, Company D- 3rd Regiment. He graduated from the College of Science and Arts in 1946 with an English degree. He entered the graduate school at MSC, but left in 1951.
