Biographical Note
Emerson Edward Vance, of Clinton, Michigan, earned his B.S. degree from Michigan Agricultural College in 1884. He later farmed in Matherton, Michigan. From 1891 to 1896, he was Supervisor of Lebanon Township. In 1897 he became a clerk in the Office of the Secretary of State. Vance later became a draftsman in the State Land Commissioner's Office. He died in Lansing, Michigan, on February 5, 1925.
