Scope and Contents
The papers of Charles Close consist of a photo album containing sepia-toned photographs of student life at Michigan Agricultural College. The photographs are well identified by Close, and further annotation was added by Madison Kuhn and Wilbur O. Hedrick in 1952.

Biographical Note
Charles Philip Close, of Three Oaks, Michigan, earned his B.S. in Agriculture from Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University) in 1895, and stayed to earn his Master's Degree in 1897. In 1931, he lived in Maryland and was employed as a Senior Extension Horticulturist with the United States Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. He was previously employed by the Maryland Agricultural College and Experiment Station, Utah State Agricultural College, and the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station.
