Scope and Contents
This collection consists of one reel of microfilm containing correspondence, reports, minutes and other papers relating to the activities of the Association of Land Grant Colleges and Universities. Also included is a study project conducted by Mumford dealing with the organization and administration of agricultural education in the United States as it relates to land grant colleges. Finally, copies and analyses of Senate and House bills relating to federal aid to education are included.

Biographical / Historical
Frederick Blackmar Mumford was a dean of the College of Agriculture, University of Missouri, and president of the Association of Land-Grant Colleges and Universities. Mumford was born in Moscow, Michigan on May 28, 1869. He attended Albion College in 1889 and earned his bachelor of science degree. In 1893, he earned his master of science from Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University). He taught at M.A.C. for two years and then joined the faculty at the University of Missouri from which he retired in 1938.
