The National Association of Postmasters of the United States traces its origin to Detroit, Michigan in 1898. Thirty-seven years later in 1936, the Michigan chapter of the N.A.P.U.S. was granted its charter. The N.A.P.U.S. work principally to enhance postmasters political and financial status.
