Scope and Contents

The Ivan Goodrich collection contains correspondence, reports, financial records, and Michigan tourist publications belonging to Mr. Goodrich as a private citizen, as well as a member of various Eaton County Boards dating from 1938-1966. There are also pamphlets and financial records pertaining to the Hayes-Green-Beach Memorial Hospital in Charlotte, Michigan and the Tri-County Planning Commission.

Biographical Note

Ivan Goodrich was born November 6, 1895 in Eaton County, Michigan. He married Ella L. Hahn and they had 4 daughters (Doris, Thelma, Noama, and Yvonne).

Ivan Goodrich was a Brookfield Township official and Charlotte community service worker and he had lived and farmed in the township all his life. He was member of the Old Eaton County Board of Supervisors from June 1932 to December 1968 and served as chairman of the board in 1949-1950. He also was a former township treasurer, a member of the planning committees involved in the construction of the present Eaton County jail, Hayes-Green-Beach Hospital and Eaton County Medical Care Facility and a member of the Brookfield Lodge 439 F&AM.

He died May 4, 1987.
