This collection consists of the diaries of Delatos H. Goldsmith. The entries contain the day's weather, his activities, and who visited that day. He wrote what he paid or was paid for goods and services. The entries center around activities related to the farm. The entries contain little personal information. He also rarely mentions his wife by name or her activities. Goldsmith also includes names in his entries but has little or no explanation of their relationship to him.
Also included are miscellaneous receipts and articles that were tucked in the diaries.

Biographical Note
Delatos H. Goldsmith was born circa 1857 and lived his whole life on a farm near Horton, Michigan in Jackson County. He had three siblings, Charles, George, and Ida. On March 25, 1879, he married Nellie Brownell. Goldsmith died in 1947.
