The records of the Sigma Xi Society consist of brochures and handbooks relating to the national chapter, bylaws and three programs from initiation ceremonies for the Michigan State University chapter. There are also meeting minutes and memberships cards.

Historical Note
The Sigma Xi Society is a scientific research honorary society. The national society was founded in 1886 at Cornell University to honor excellence in scientific investigation and encourage cooperation among researchers in all fields of science and engineering. The chapter is still active on the Michigan State University campus.
