Hawley family papers
Scope and Contents
The Hawley family papers consist of letters, certificates and receipts of Anne and Asa Hawley of Union City, Michigan. The letters, from relatives in Ohio and New York, primarily discuss family matters. Also included are land deeds granting government lands in New York to Lewis Hawley (1839), a lightning insurance policy for Asa Hawley's house (1857), and various receipts.
