This collection consists of a letter from Rufus B. Cole, stationed with a Michigan civil War regiment in Louisville, Kentucky. The letter is primarily concerned with religious concerns and Cole's desire to be home again. Biographical Note
Rufus B. Cole was born to Dyer and Akna M. H. Cole circa 1834 in New York. He enlisted in Company K, Michigan 14th Infantry Regiment on 07 January 1862 at Locke, Michigan and mustered out on 12 Jan 1865.
He was married to Martha Cole. Cole died on 3 May 1867 at age 34 in Locke, Michigan.
