Lillie S. Hallifax papers
Scope and Contents
This collection contains papers and diaries kept by Lillie Hallifax, a school teacher from Henrietta, Jackson County, Michigan. Seven small diaries describe Hallifax's daily routine and events. The eight diary contains recipes. One diary (1912) written by a farmer of Jackson County, Michigan, mentions daily events, livestock, cold weather, and the health of acquaintances. Among the papers are poems; a teacher's certificate from Jackson County, April 21, 1879; and a marriage certificate for the marriage of Lillie Hallifax to George Kellogg dated September 23, 1879.
