Biographical Note

Allen Benton Morse was a student in the first class at the Agricultural College of the State of Michigan (now Michigan State University) in 1857. He is listed among the students for the 1858 and 1859 academic years. He was from Otisco, Ionia County, Michigan.

Morse served in the Civil War. He became an attorney and sat on the Michigan Supreme Court. Morse was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Law at Michigan Agricultural College (now MSU) in 1891.
