Historical Note
The S.S. Empress of Britain was ocean liner built between 1928 and 1931 by John Brown shipyard in Scotland and owned by Canadian Pacific Steamship Company. The liner launched June 11, 1930, and was torpedoed by a German submarine on October 28, 1940 off the coast of Ireland.
