Biographical/Historical
Because Lansing and Okemos churches were too distant for students to attend regularly, a Sunday afternoon service was held in the Chapel on campus. Initially, Lansing clergymen preached by invitation, but later the Board of Agriculture ruled that only College officers might speak.
