Michigan Woman's Christian Temperance Union records
Scope and Contents
This collection contains records of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union including some publications and transcriptions of a W.C.T.U. Minute Book of the Three Oaks, Michigan chapter. Included are minutes of the society meetings, 1879-1887; a transcription of the constitution; membership lists, 1880?-1887;financial records, 1883?-1886; and a newspaper clipping of resolutions adopted at the 1881 convention.
There are annual convention reports and directories of Michigan Woman's Christian Temperance Union for 1942, 1958, 1960-1964.
W.C.T.U. publications include a poem written by a temperance lecturer, 1857; the newspaper, Woman's State Temperance Record, 1874; notice of W.C.T.U. Convention 1879; and a pamphlet Ingham County Must Stay Dry published by Woman's Local Option Committee, 1909.
