Biographical Note

Hamilton Davis, son of Arthur and Emily (Green) Davis, was born in Oakland County, Michigan on July 20, 1837. He enlisted in March 1864 and served in Company F, Michigan 15th Infantry Regiment. He was killed at the battle of Atlanta on July 20, 1864 (his 27th birthday).

His cousins, James (son of Allan Davis) and William Davis (son of James Davis) are also included in this collection. James Davis was born October 27, 1842 at Burns, Michigan. William Davis was born October 29, 1845 and died July 20, 1914.
