Scope and Contents

The collection includes football programs, copies of newspaper clippings related to a student riot after a baseball game between M.A.C. and the University of Michigan, and campus photographs. Several items concern the student excavation of the Union Building basement. Football programs are for Creighton University vs. Michigan Aggies (November 10, 1923) and Michigan Aggies vs. Indiana (October 28, 1923). Memorabilia includes ticket stubs, a photograph book entitled On the Campus at M.A.C., a M.A.C. Reserve Officer Training Corps Horse Show program and a program for a revue presented to raise money to build the Union.

Biographical Note

Forrest W. Starrett, of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, attended Michigan Agricultural College (M.A.C., now Michigan State University) from 1922 to 1924. He studied agriculture, but did not complete the requirements for a degree. While at M.A.C., Starrett was a member of the Union Literary Society (Delta Chi Fraternity), and lived in the Society House for the 1923-1924 academic year.
