Historical Note

The Friends of Kresge Art Museum was established in 1975 to manage the docent program for community education programs. It was a community-based association of individuals, families, and businesses interested in the visual arts. The group raised funds for new acquisitions through gala fund-raising events, annual house tours, special activities and individual donations. It also organized trips, openings, receptions, and social events.

The organization was governed by a Board of Directors.
