Historical Note
The Rural Manpower Center of Michigan State University was created in September 1965 by the Board of Trustees. The Michigan Legislature appropriated $50,000 for the establishment of the center with the functions of serving as a knowledge center, conducting farm labor research as well as educational programs, and providing organizational leadership on farm labor issues.
