Scope and Contents

The Llewellyn Bonham collection contains photographs of students and faculty of Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University) from 1883-1887. Included are portraits of Theophilus C. Abbot, Robert G. Baird, William J. Beal, Albert E. Brown, Leslie A. Buell, Rolla C. Carpenter, Albert J. Cook, Rolla J. Coryell, Henry A. Danville, James A. Dart, Milton Delano, William A. Dohany, Charles L. Grimes, George H. Harrower, Samuel Johnson, Homer D. Luce, Charles McDiarmid, Julius R. Newton, Alverson W. Page, Andrew Park, Thatcher A. Parkes, Benjamin C. Porter, William V. Sage, James Satterlee, J. H. Smith, Dorr J. Stryker, and Wilford C. Stryker. There are nine unidentified portraits of men, and three unidentified portraits of women.

Biographical Note

Llewellyn Bonham was from Oxford, Ohio and graduated with a B.S. in science from Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University) in 1884. He then stayed on to study as a post graduate but did not earn a graduate degree. During his life, he earned his C.E. and M.E. degrees. He went on to became a mechanical engineer in Oxford, Ohio and held several patents. Bonham died in January 1944.
