Historical Note

A series of lectures and concerts for students and the general public was initiated at Michigan Agriculture College in 1912 by the student sponsored Liberal Arts Council. A student activity fee of six dollars per year was created with five dollars going to Athletics and one dollar for the Library Arts Council. The lectures and concerts were free to students and tickets were sold to the general public. The Lecture Concert Series were transferred to the Wharton Center when it was built.
