Earl Weaver papers
Scope and Contents
The collection contains eight publications published by Universidad Nacional de Colombia concerning poultry, pigs, cattle, and alfalfa written by Weaver and are in Spanish. There are also reports (dated 1955-1959) by Earl Weaver to John Stone concerning MSU's mission to Colombia. In addition, there is also a report by the Michigan Holstein Breeders Association called "Holstein Cattle Owned in Michigan in 1883," as well as a booklet "Two Hundred and Fifty Years of Michigan Dairying."

Biographical Note
Earl Weaver was born on July 27, 1893, in Brazil, Indiana. He received a B.S. from Oklahoma State University in 1913, an M.S. from Iowa State University in 1917, and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1938. He was a professor of dairy husbandry at Iowa State University from 1919 to 1929 and was head of the dairy department at Oklahoma State University from 1929 to 1937. He became the head of the Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) dairy department in July 1937. In 1955, he became a dairy consultant and head of MSU’s mission to Colombia. In 1959, he returned to the MSU dairy department to teach and conduct research. Weaver resigned from MSU in 1963.
