Scope and Contents
The records of the Center for Service Learning include a report of the office’s first year of operation, a handbook on volunteering for faculty and staff, a Student Education Corps brochure, volunteer opportunities booklet, as well as flyers.
The Electronic Resources includes correspondence in the form of e-mail memos.

Historical Note
The Office of Volunteer Programs was created in 1967 by the Board of Trustees as a result of student volunteer activity on campus like the Student Educational Corps. In 1979 the name changed to the Center for Service-Learning. The center has reported to the Career Services and Placement office as well as the Vice president for Student Affairs.
In 2003, the name changed to Center for Service-Learning and Civic Engagement.
