Historical Note

The committee is made up of representatives from faculty and student. The Vice President for Student Affairs and Services or the Vice President’s designee and the University Ombudsman are members with voice, but no vote.

The committee advises the Vice President for Student Affairs and Services on all policies of the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Services and on other University policies as they affect the academic achievement of students. The committee also initiates and reviews proposed amendments to Academic Freedom for Students at Michigan State University, General Student Regulations, and policies relating to the academic rights and responsibilities of students.
