Scope and Contents

The records consists of materials relating to the Trainer of Teacher Trainers (TTT) project and includes reports, information about the project in other states, conference reports, and workshop materials. Other records include reports to the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, Michigan Association for Student Teaching newsletters, and reports about the student teaching program at MSU.

Historical Note

In 1954, the Department of Teacher Education was created in the College of Education at Michigan State College (now Michigan State University). From 1960 to 1962 there was not a specific teacher education department in the College of Education. In 1963, the Teacher Education School emerged. In 1981, the name changed to the Teacher Education Department, and it administers student teaching.
