Historical Note
Circa 1934, the Department of Foods and Nutrition was created in the College of Home Economics. When the College of Home Economics became the College of Human Ecology in 1970, the department name changed to Human Nutrition and Foods Development. Shortly after this, the department merged with the Department of Food Science in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources under the new name of Food Science and Human Nutrition. This department was managed jointly until circa 2005 when the College of Human Ecology was dissolved.
