Biographical Note

Richard Milo Olin was born in Perry, New York in 1875. He received his medical training at Bellevue and New York University and received his degree in 1898. In 1913 Olin was appointed Health Commissioner for the state of Michigan. He held this post for 12 years, until his appointment at Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) in 1925. At MSC, he was director of the university's health service, physician for the football team, and planned the new hospital. He died in 1938.
